Our secure, spacious 12,000 sq.ft. compound is perched atop a 100 foot high pristine bluff overlooking a variety of surf spots that are only steps away. You can monitor surfing conditions from the comfort of the Sunset Sofa, the Tiki Lounge, or maybe even from your pillow in the tent!
Vision/Mission Statement
SDSA endeavors to provide the highest quality professional surfing instruction and overnight surf camp opportunities in a supportive environment through a diversity of proven programs designed for quick learning, fun and safety. Our mission dovetails with that of California Department of Parks and Recreation to provide quality outdoor recreational opportunities and act as responsible stewards of our state's extraordinary biological diversity, protecting its most valued natural and cultural resources for our community, our visitors, and posterity thru vigilance and education.
 
The San Diego Surfing Academy proudly announces our twelfth (12th) season of summer surf camp. The spectacular natural beauty of the Pacific Ocean, beginner friendly waves and smooth, sandy, level ocean bottom of South Carlsbad State Beach, lack of grouchy locals, yummy food, and fun out-of-the-water activities combine to make your surf camp learning experience enjoyable and memorable.
 
To promote safety, quality and personal attention, we limit enrollment to fourteen (14) overnight surfing clients per session. Early registrations are now being accepted and are encouraged to ensure a spot in surf camp during the busy summer season. Each surf camp session is an all-inclusive 6 day/5 night SDSA Surf Camp experience.
SURF CAMP RATES
Overnight Surf Camp
Six Days / Five Nights
120 hours in all w/ ten 2-hour supervised group surfing lessons..........................$1500
24 hours - typically from noon any day to noon the next day.............................$325
A 50% deposit is required to make a reservation for overnight surf camp. Your balance is due 30 days prior to your desired session.
Day Surf Camp
1/2 Day - 9am to 1pm Surf and Chill*...............................................................$120
1/2 Day - 1pm to 5pm Chill and Surf.................................................................$120
Full Day - 9am to 5pm Surf / Chill (includes lunch) / Surf Again............................$240
* "Chill" Defined: Social Interaction with SDSA Staff and other campers, beach fun, healthy snacks, access to surf library (videos, magazines, books), ping pong, hammocks for siestas, horseshoes, farkle and other games.

Can't do a whole surf camp? No problem, start and end on your own schedule. Prices start at $325 for each 24 hour period and entitle you to most everything the surf camp has to offer!
The Overnight Surf Camp Experience
- Six days and five nights of full immersion into the sport, art, lifestyle and culture of surfing!
- Phenomenal scenery with ocean views from surf camp
- Wildlife fun: common dolphin sightings, seasonal whales, seals and sea lions. Marvel at pelicans in squadron formation, cranes, egrets, red tail hawks, peregrine falcons
- Personalized instruction by Pat Weber and his staff of expert surfing instructors is customized to your skill level. Beginners are especially welcomed. Intermediates can hone their skills and take it to the next level. Ready to compete? Learn competition basics and advanced techniques from the pros!
- Free loaner gear during your stay which may include O'Neill Wetsuits and INT soft performance surfboards
- Digital action photos of your surfing are included in your tuition. Photos CD's are disbursed before your departure.
- Nutritious, delicious, hearty home-style meals from the camp kitchen. Please advise us about any special dietary requirements. See a sample menu. Final night pizza party!
- Complimentary shuttle service to and from the Carlsbad Poinsettia Coaster Train Station
- An interpretive program including the history of the area and the importance of conserving natural resources
- Field trips that may include nature walks, surfing competitions, local surf shops, concerts, ball games, town festivals, current movies
- Voluntary beach clean-up opportunities to give back to such a beautiful setting

Shuttle Information
Reservations are not necessary. Follow the shuttle signs which are marked clearly at the airport. There are many shuttle service companies in which to choose and prices will vary.
